Manager[edit]

I'm sure First Transpennine manages this station. Their signs have the first logo on them, but this station is listed as being managed by Northern Rail. Can anyone confirm this?

Northern Rail is correct - see information on the station, though I see it gives the address of the station as Chester-le-Track! – Tivedshambo (talk) 06:30, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yep it is Northern rail, I work for Chester-le-Track —Preceding unsigned comment added by SarahJane81 (talkcontribs) 19:19, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What does this mean exactly? That Northern Rail is the franchised TOC for this station, but they subcontract the duty to Chester-le-Track? Or that managing and operating are two distinct duties? — Smjg (talk) 10:04, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment comment[edit]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Chester-le-Street railway station/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

Here are my ideas to get this to 'Good Article' status:
  • Expand the history information
  • Describe the station facilities
  • Describe Chester-le-Track's role as an internet domain name owner

So who runs this station now?[edit]

The "Operator and facilities" section is a mess as it stands. It says that the station is operated by Chester-le-Track, but then goes on to say that Chester-le-Track has ceased trading! They can't both be right. I don't know the answer, so can't edit myself, but hopefully someone can! 86.181.116.162 (talk) 20:17, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

National Rail say (in December 2020):
The independent retailer, Chester-le-Track, that ran the ticket office at this station has gone into administration. Northern Rail will be staffing the station on a part time basis but may not be able to sell the full range of tickets, in particular Advance Purchase and longer term Season Tickets.
In addition, some of the station facilities may not always be available at the times shown below.
