Fair use rationale for Image:Cendrillon-poster.jpg[edit]

Image:Cendrillon-poster.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Verifiability concern[edit]

"An immediate hit, with fifty performances in its first season, it is one of Massenet's most charming pieces and, after Manon and Werther, is one of the most frequently performed of his twenty-five operas, although it is not part of the standard operatic repertoire."

This whole block of text needs to be verified. The part I bolded is arguably untrue as well. Would someone more familiar with the operatic repertoire be able to provide a good citation for this phrase?--Benfergy (talk) 00:08, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Performance - Cleveland[edit]

Is the Cleveland performance a student production, in which case is it notable enough to stay in? Cg2p0B0u8m (talk) 21:09, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Émile Bertrand - Jules Massenet - Cendrillon poster.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on May 24, 2015. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2015-05-24. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. Thanks! — Crisco 1492 (talk) 13:27, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Cendrillon
Cendrillon is an opera in four acts by Jules Massenet to a French libretto by Henri Caïn. Based on Charles Perrault's 1698 version of the Cinderella fairy tale, it follows a young woman who meets and falls in love with a prince owing to help from her fairy godmother. The opera has been performed numerous times since its 1899 premiere at the Salle Favart, and several recordings have been produced.Poster: Émile Bertrand; restoration: Adam Cuerden
The link is to Emile Bertrand, a French mineralogist, is that correct? AnthonyCamp (talk) 09:32, 24 May 2015 (UTC). Nobody has taken this up but the dates of the artist (who does not have an entry on Wikipedia) were apparently 1842-1912 so the link to the mineralogist is clearly incorrect.
