Move?[edit]

I think the research shows that the buffalo were imported for the film The Covered Wagon in 1923. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:E000:5FC0:23:250E:91AB:B683:7E39 (talk) 20:30, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Great little article, but "buffalo" is a pretty inaccurate colloquial name. I suggest we make a simple move to Catalina Island bison herd. Steven Walling 18:02, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia prefers common names to accurate names. I checked Google for ["Catalina Island" herd].[1] The results are mixed, but it looks like "bison" is more popular than "buffalo", and for that reason (as well as greater accuracy) I'd support the move.   Will Beback  talk  20:36, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'm calling that consensus then. ;) Steven Walling 03:23, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Opening sentence[edit]

The non-native but charismatic Catalina Island bison herd has existed for nearly a century.

Can we get a source for their charisma? haha — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.64.237.90 (talk) 15:57, 27 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
