Common name source[edit]

IPNI.org would only rarely be a source for the most common English language name of one of the botanical authorities, and in this case, I would say not. Nägeli may be given as an authority or prior authority for a name, but this will seldom be attached to his full name other than in an article biographical about his describing the plant.

I don't know if this is his most common given name, Carl with a "c," or not, but the many articles written about him and Mendel would probably suffice as reliable sources for his most common given name.

Also, for obvious reasons, a German language source is not a reliable source for the most common name on English. Eau (talk) 16:49, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
