I tried to add some references to Carbon Tissue section and an automated filter disallowed it.

Off-topic text problem[edit]

Tbe "Carbon tissue" section has acquired a fairly substantial "Working" subsection devoted to a photomechanical printing process that involves the use of carbon tissue for creating the printing plates. Does Not Belong. This article, according to its name, is about a specific type of end-product photographic print and the processes used to create them, a very different topic. The Woodburytype process is far more closely related (Woodburytypes are basically mold-made replicas of carbon prints), but it, quite rightly, has its own article and gets only a "see also" nod (arguably too minimal a mention) in this one.

The problematic material is interesting and of value, so I am loath to simply delete it. Does anyone know of an article in the field of photomechanical processes where it would be a good fit? Perhaps the creation of a separate "Carbon tissue" article is warranted? In any case, to avoid misleading, confusing, perplexing and otherwise befuddling the passing reader, it needs to disappear forthwith, so my interim solution is to render it invisible by commenting it out, which I am about to do. 66.249.173.67 (talk) 03:55, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind! There already is a Carbon tissue article, and the verbiage in question is already in it. Its misfit clone in this article has now been deleted. Arrggghh! Why do some contributors insist on inserting the same big slab of text into multiple articles, often with little concern about relevance as long as some tangential connection can be found? Now, here's a worthwhile project for some WP coder: let's have a spider that crawls WP articles seeking and flagging duplications of this sort, or at least a sentry that raises a red flag if very similar or identical blocks of text are uploaded to multiple articles within a short time. 66.249.173.67 (talk) 04:44, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
