Caine's Arcade on Mars![edit]

Is it worth noting that the Curiosity Rover on Mars tweeted - did I say it was tweeting FROM MARS - about Caine and Caine's Arcade? Tweet on 18 Sept by @MarsCuriosity: "What does Caine of @CainesArcade have in common with my chief engineer? More than you think! Sequel video: [web address removed as Wikipedia filters won't allow a bit.ly web address]" (And yes I realise it's not really tweeting from Mars, or from anywhere for that matter as it's an inanimate object: [1].86.133.208.86 (talk) 17:13, 26 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's a very good question, and sorry it's taken so long to reply. There are certainly enough independent sources that talk about Caine's relationship with NASA to mention it. For whatever reason (independent sources don't understand twitter or don't see the humour in a space probe supposedly tweeting?) the tweet itself doesn't seem to get mentioned in reliable sources. There is also a little confusion (in my mind) about whether it's Pathfinder or Curiosity that's involved - maybe both.

Anyway, I don't see any reason why Caine's visit to NASA/JPL shouldn't be mentioned, and perhaps the rover tweet as a very small part of the same sentence. Be sure to cite sources for each! --Demiurge1000 (talk) 22:41, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

School Challenge[edit]

The article already mentions educational projects based on Caine's original arcade, although it suggests it is based on "allowing students to create something that they enjoy", rather than being something they "have to" do. Maybe someone somewhere missed the point of the exercise?

There was a global cardboard challenge a few weeks ago, which was trying to get schools involved, but as to anything now current, I'm not aware of any large-scale efforts. --MASEM (t) 19:38, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The "Global Cardboard Challenge" is ongoing, http://cardboardchallenge.com - it happens in schools and out of schools, and is organized by the Imagination Foundation, which grew out of Caine's Arcade.
