Reads like the corporate talking points[edit]

Serious NPOV problems in this entire article, and if this wasn't done by Caffe Nero or someone acting on their behalf I'll eat my hat. And I say that as someone literally writing from a Caffe Nero right now, because they're a good coffee shop near my house.

Where's the Discussion?[edit]

Blocked from editing[edit]

This page has been locked from editing. Aparrently over the dispute about the validity of the Identikit Manchester Project. I was informed that editing would not be allowed until the issues were resolved on the "talk page". However, I have raised the issue below with no response. If no one is ready and willing to dispute or respond to the Indentikit Manchester Project and its importance in relation to Caffe Nero then it should be left on the page. Open source? You have to be kidding . .. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mj1890 (talkcontribs) 22:28, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Identikit Manchester Project[edit]

Why was the section on the Identikit Manchester Project removed? Surely this was the most important event in Caffe Nero's brief history as it instigated its transformation from a chain cafe into a site of sociological reflection? Did my esteemed and fellow Cafe Nero afficiando who removed it miss the importance? Surely not! Perhaps there were ulterior motives. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mj1890 (talkcontribs) 13:36, August 24, 2007 (UTC)

is there any sources for this statment

"Though they are a British Company, they use European Laws so that they don't have to respect British Bank holidays or pay their staff any extra for working them."

I would say there is no need for the last line realy unless this is their real intent, sounds POV JMcD 12:47, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the line - contentious stuff like this really needs a reliable source. AdorableRuffian 01:13, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A puzzling sentence[edit]

Although Caffè Nero does not use Fairtrade labelling for their coffee, the chain admits that it does trade fair, and purchases its coffee at premium prices for a better deal with the producers.

Why is trading fair something they would "admit," as if ashamed of it? Are they reluctantly confessing that they don't screw over producers but trying to keep it hush-hush so Objectivists and Americans won't refuse to shop there?

Also, what exactly does the last part of the sentence (after the final comma) mean? Are they claiming that they pay more than the producers ask or something? --76.203.74.26 12:33, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Caffe Nero is now a LTD[edit]

Caffe Nero is not a PLC anymore so the page needs to be changed.

I believe Caffe Nero is known as Nero Holdings Ltd.

Fair use rationale for Image:Caffè Nero (logo).PNG[edit]

Image:Caffè Nero (logo).PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 19:43, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Founding date[edit]

The opening line says it was founded in 1997. Further down the page, "the company was founded in 1987 and sold in 1997" (to who? founded by who?). Which is correct? When was it founded? 87.112.213.160 (talk) 20:10, 18 May 2013 (UTC) Caffe Nero was founded in 1990 by Ian Semp, with its first branch at 66 Old Brompton Road, London SW7. Subsequent branches were opened and the company was sold by Ian Semp in 1997 to a syndicate of overseas investors backed by Banc Boston. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.11.77.81 (talk) 16:56, 29 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
