Merge proposal[edit]

Guidelines at Wikipedia:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about settlements state that ideally the civil parish should be the catch-all article, avoiding single line articles on every village and landmark within the parish.

Therefore, I suggest that villages within the parish with a one or two sentence article, ie West Burton, West Sussex to be merged and redirected to this parish article. ++ MortimerCat (talk) 08:03, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Go for it. If there is ever enough on West Burton to justify an article in its own right, it can be split at a later date. Skinsmoke (talk) 15:45, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have reservations about this as this is one of a chain of similar medieval settlements spaced along the foot of the downs on the underhill lane. Although it has lost out to the less remote village of Bury in modern times it must have an interesting history. Leaving it as a stub may encourage local people to get involved and develop an article.--Charles (talk) 21:04, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
