Copyright problem removed[edit]

Prior content in this article duplicated one or more previously published sources. Copied or closely paraphrased material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a compatible license. (For more information, please see "using copyrighted works from others" if you are not the copyright holder of this material, or "donating copyrighted materials" if you are.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Contributors may use copyrighted publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences or phrases. Accordingly, the material may be rewritten, but only if it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. Thank you. Badzil (talk) 18:49, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The lyrics have been written in France where they will become public domain 70 years after the death of the author, i.e. 1956 + 70 = 2026. The revision containing the lyrics should be deleted. Cheers. Badzil (talk) 19:36, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
My understanding is that this work is in the public domain. While available in France, Wikipedia is operated under US Law. All works published before 1926 anywhere in the world are in the public domain in the United States, as a result, this may be posted to Wikipedia. French copyright law does not matter in this case, because Wikipedia is under the jurisdiction of US law, not French. Please see Wikipedia:Copyright_violations for more information. While reading my father's book, "Assignment in Brittany" by Helen MacInnes, I came across a transliteration of the Breton national anthem. Googling yielded this page - very good except that I'd like to see a translation into English of the meaning of the words, please. --76.226.49.221 (talk) 08:29, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
