483001[edit]

I'm not sure how to edit the table accordingly, but the unit at Ryde St Johns Road siding is NOT 483001. It is one car each of 483003 and 483001. Alspittle 15:31, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

483002 & 483009[edit]

There is a source in the February edition Railway Magazine that says both units are stored outside, in bad condition and being stripped for spares but for some reason 009 keeps being put back as 'in service'. Zeoace 11:15, 06 March 2019 (GMT)

Which page? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 22:52, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Do'h I forgot to note the page number after I gave it to my brother, I've asked him to go through it and give me the page number, I've got a photo of the article but thats not good as the page number is cut, will post once I have the page number. Thank you. Zeoace 12:01, 07 March 2019 [GMT].
Update - it was on Page 6, it says;
"The stock is deteriorating - No. 483002 is stored outside Ryde Works with unit 009, both in poor external condition, with units being robbed for parts to maintain others." Zeoace 15:05, 07 March 2019 [GMT]
@Zeoace:  Done, see here. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 12:54, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

483007[edit]

What is going on with 007? One minute its in service and the next its under refurb but with no source on either side other than personal knowledge to back it up. I could ask my cousin who works on the Island Line but again no public published source to back it up. I have asked SWRailways on Twitter and they said they would get back in touch but nothing so far, not sure if a public tweet from their twitter feed will be a source. --Zeoace 09:32, 21 March 2019 [GMT]

It's not, see WP:SPS. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 17:42, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The unit was originally 'in service' but then several IPs (possibly the same editor) kept changing it to 'under refurbishment' but did not provide a source, so I reverted it. 2.100.84.22 (talk) 08:14, 24 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I've just picked up the recent edition of 'Modern Railways' September 2019 edition, it has confirmed on page 65 - sub-heading 'The Fate of The 1938 Stock' that it is in the workshop having a refurbishment and will re-enter service at some-stage. --Zeoace 11:31, 25 August 2019 [GMT]

2019 - only 2 units serviceable?[edit]

Several news sources have recently claimedOn The Wight - 19 SeptemberIsland Echo - 9 November that only 2 trains are serviceable at the moment and when one breaks down for any reason the passenger service has had to be cut back to just hourly. Can we really claim that 4 units are "in service"?--Peeky44 What's on your mind? 09:35, 11 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Whlie I do agree, we do not know which units are failing and which are operational, we need something to referreence so we can add the info in the table below. User talk:Zeoace 13:09, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

483009 - Coach 129[edit]

I've seen on the East Somerset Railways Facebook page dated 21 August 2021 at 09.45 that they've been given the task to restore 483009-129 for it's private owner: https://www.facebook.com/eastsomersetrailway/posts/4387017827986443 The full quote is "After recently admiring the excellent work of our skilled CTMS team - here's a peek at their latest project. A 1938 underground carriage from the IOW. Being restored for a private owner. Photo - Nigel Dyson"

Not sure if we can use Facebook links even if it's from official source?

I see another source has been added, awesome :) Zeoace (talk) 17:22, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
