1899 game[edit]

There seems to be a discrepancy in the records about the alleged 1899 game. The matchup is listed in the BC Football media guide (record book) on page 177, under 1899 there is an undated game (between 10/26 and 11/4) with an 18-0 result against Massachusetts. However in the UMass media guide, the game is not listed under their 1899 season, see page 32 here: https://umassathletics.com/documents/2020/8/11/20_FB_Record_Book.pdf

One news sources list the first meeting as 1901, here: https://www.recorder.com/Notes-from-the-sideline-19857649 However a reputable database site lists the 1899 meeting: http://www.winsipedia.com/games/boston-college/vs/umass
