Public Speaking Section[edit]

Someone removed the public speaking section, claiming it read like an advertisement. The person's entry is still there, but the message seems to be replaced by a message that the change was reverted, and the account has been blocked for disruptive editing. But the section still seems to gone. Therefore, I will restore the section. I can't see how the section could be considered commercial, and it's obviously important that it isn't—but I can possibly think of is changing the word "numerous" to many." Beyond that, I think people should make a suggestion before deleting it. Bill G. Evans (talk) 17:59, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, OK, the complaint was that it sounded like a resume. Again, I really don't know how much more factual that one sentence could sound. But I did change that word. Open to suggestions. Bill G. Evans (talk) 18:17, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yeah. Wikpedia articles are not resumes. If this person made some sort of speechification that was so important it was widely reported on, and if this person (Hilary Clinton-style?) made significant amounts of money speechifying, yeah, then maybe. But he didn't, nor did reliable sources report on this--I'm not counting the KISS MASK fanzine or whatever, and this kind of notification isn't coverage at all. This claim of being a famous speaker at colleges is also not verified by reliable sources. I understand you want your client to look good (I assume it's your client?), but you'll have to abide by our guidelines here. The man is a producer and musician, not a public speaker. Also, I think you were a little confused about the history of the page. Drmies removed the section about 12 hours after a long series of disruptive edits by IPs and a few registered editors was halted as a result of page semi-protection, but Drmies (a sysop) was not blocked and had nothing to do with those edits. • I see what you mean, yes I saw that as lumped in with everything else. Nobody is impressed by anybody's Wikipedia page. However, pages should be complete, which is why I solicited clarification on the Talk page. Thank you for the clarification. Bill G. Evans (talk) 03:54, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Too long to be a stub, not long enough for B-class. The info there seems good, there's just not a lot of it. AlmightyClam (talk) 16:16, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
