Copyright violation?[edit]

I paraphrased from the press release as cited in the footnote but could do it even more if you think it necessary. Press releases are normally not copyrighted. Sincerely, GeorgeLouis (talk) 07:32, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I've blanked the article for now, as Wikipedia does not recognize a general release of copyright in press releases. See the most recent conversation on this issue at Wikipedia_talk:CP#Material_from_press_releases, including the quote from Jimbo, ""Press releases are clearly copyrighted." I'm afraid that at this point press releases must be treated on Wikipedia in accordance with WP:NFC, which means that you may quote briefly from them, but must otherwise write the text completely in original language. The article here is, unfortunately, a very close paraphrase. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:59, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

See Talk:Bob Benoit (horse racing)/Temp for the rewritten version.Yours, GeorgeLouis (talk) 18:13, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
