"The film's final moments consist of a set of names, being repeated. "John. Daniel. Howard. Graham. Terry. Paul". These names are all former lovers and friends of Jarman who had died of AIDS."

The film does not end as described above in the Wikipedia article, instead it ens with the words, "And our lives will run like sparks through the stubble. I place a delphinium, Blue, upon your grave."
