clean up[edit]

Ok, this does need to be cleaned up. In answer to the question by User:Ashley Pomeroy I think sheetweb and sheetweaver spiders are the same thing.

Here is what I think needs to be done. This particulary species needs to be moved to it's own page, essentially this page. Then this page needs to be turned into a stub that has the correct taxobox. That part is my fault, as I put this taxobox in. I've cleaned up similar problems with Praying mantis (among others) so will do this one in the next day or so if it sounds good. I'll also create the necessary redirects for it to be a logical progression. Sound good? Wikibofh 22:06, 27 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Misidentification[edit]

I don't mean to be rude, but very little of the information in this article is accurate. The photos are not of Florinda coccinea: they are of a spider from any of several erigonine genera, such as Ceraticelus, Ceratinops, Ceratinella, Ceratinopsis or Ceratinopsidis. This is pretty easy to tell, since Florinda has a black tubercle on the posterior end of the abdomen, while the spider in these photos clearly doesn't.

Furthermore, the description of the spider given in the text (size and eye arrangements) do not match Florinda coccinea, but do match the genera I listed above. I suspect that the text of this article was based entirely on these misidentified photos.

Finally, the name "black-tailed red sheetweaver" isn't an accepted common name and doesn't have very high currency anyway, so it shouldn't be used for the title of this article. I don't know how to rename articles or to upload photos, but I can write some better content. If someone can show me how to upload photos, I have a couple I might be willing to share. In the meantime, I'll put up some new text. Tennesseellum (talk) 04:56, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
