where's his family from?[edit]

He's gypsy (as mentioned by Tyson Fury), or part gypsy, but there are different types of gypsy. Is he traveller (i.e. Irish gypsy)?

From a travelling gypsy family or settled gypsies?

And, not completely the same question, what flags has he flown during ring entrances?

Whatever the answers, this should be mentioned in the intro. Gronky (talk) 00:52, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

From the sounds of it, he is a Romani Traveller. Not sure if that clarifies anything, but maybe it's a start? Mac Dreamstate (talk) 18:09, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. Don't know how I missed that. Thanks. I guess I got confused by the section titles, so I've changed them now to better describe the information content. Gronky (talk) 00:37, 3 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
He's Romanichal not Romani. There's a difference. Romanichal are British, Romani are ethnic Romanis. 86.7.140.64 (talk) 00:41, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

VS Andy Lee History[edit]

Haven't there been other Gypsy world title fights? I'm fairly sure throughout history there's been quite a few times Gypsies have fought each other for globally recognised titles. 86.7.140.64 (talk) 00:42, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing as Andy Lee is credited with being the first member of the travelling community to win a world title, and he lost it to Saunders in his second defence, I’d presume not. I did a quick google search for gypsy world champions and besides Jem Mace (who never won an officially sanctioned title), the only names that pop up are Andy Lee, Billy Joe Saunders and Tyson Fury. – 2.O.Boxing 01:17, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

why is his drug ban listed as inactivity?[edit]

it was a drug ban, say what it was — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C4:21B:5601:C548:24EA:F048:BDE7 (talk) 17:35, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't a ban. As the section explains, he was denied a licence to box in Massachusetts by the athletic commission. That's not the same as a ban. The only such punishment Saunders has ever received is a suspension by the BBBofC for stupidity outside of boxing. – 2.O.Boxing 17:54, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
