Superboxer[edit]

This article is now inaccurate and two admins so far have abused their power. I have been threatened in a cowardly manner with a block by an admin who has not explained himself or given any information as to why this article was inaccurate or vandalized and to why he continues to change it.

Yes it's cute that admins talk to each other and make deals to gang up on non-admins so they can attempt to fulfill their life goal of respect and power, only to fail miserably on a website.

Admins have rules to follow as well, or is this what Wikipedia will become? EhuangZhang (talk) 02:38, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

asthma vs. acne[edit]

This reversion of mine was questioned on my talk page. Looking at the edit history, I see that more was reverted than I intended. This was my fault—I was going too fast with WP:Huggle, and reverted on the strength of the screenful of information which was presented without scrolling down and without recognizing that the author I was reverting had made immediately prior edits.I have unreverted my changes and removed the associated warning, but I still have a concern that the article might be incorrect.

The concern I have comes from the change which I saw in that initial huggle screenful, changing "battled acute asthma as a newborn" to "battled acute acne as a newborn". This immediately struck me as vandalous, and I mouse-clicked to revert with a warning. I have unreverted that change along with the others, but I still have concerns that it may be incorrect; fueled mainly by my understanding that acute acne is not a condition normally battled by newborns. I have subsequently checked the last 50 revisions of the article with wikiblame, finding that 45 of them contain "asthma".

I apologize for the confusion. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 03:39, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The change from Asthma to Acne was vandalism, but it wasn't made by EhuangZhang - in reverting a block of changes I made, that change was also reverted. I've added a source to the asthma claim, so all should be good there. - Bilby (talk) 05:33, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't changed anything other than the Superboxer section as far as I know. If you read the original Superboxer part and compare it to what I wrote you'd think I was Shakespeare!

I would still like to have some of what I originally wrote to remain in that section. The way the article is currently is also inaccurate but if we combine parts I think we can all be happy with it. EhuangZhang (talk) 12:37, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The edit by EhuangZhang which is timestamped 02:12, 11 July 2009 includes a change in the Early years section from "asthma" to "acne". My reversion of that is what started all of this. EhuangZhang had made two immediately-preceeding edits which, because I made the reversion with huggle were probably also reverted, which would have been incorrect in this case but which does not matter here because the the net effect of those two earlier edits was no change to the article. When EhuangZhang questioned my reversion, I unreverted it and opened this discussion. After my unrevert, the article was back as it had been prior to my revert. I have made no changes to the article since then.
There have been subsequent changes to the article by other editors since then. including changes by Bilby, who commented above that the change from Asthma to Acne was vandalism. I have not looked at any of the changes other than the "asthma" to "acne" change, and that change no longer exists in the current version of the article. My only interest in this was in removing that specific bit of apparent vandalism. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 03:07, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Changes to Superboxer fight[edit]

I've put back my changes to the fight that EhuangZhang reverted (diff of my change), which were originally made in response to EhuangZhang's text. While the original text was probably largely accurate, and certainly made in good faith, it was entirely unsourced and read (to me) as if it came from a very strong POV. On those grounds I rewrote the text sticking to the news sources I could find, although I expect that more detail will probably come to light over time. - Bilby (talk) 05:37, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite[edit]

I noticed that the bulk of the article was a direct copy of the material on Billy Dib's page at the Golden Boy Promotions site, with another section being largely lifted directly Boxing Craft. Rather than just blank the material I've rewritten it to remove copyvio and to get rid of some of the POV wording, but I may have removed some material that maybe should have remained, so my apologies if such occurred. - Bilby (talk) 18:01, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
