Does this film reference The Red Balloon? It seems to me to, but there's no evidence of that that I can think of. Ben moss 04:26, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I saw that, though it was a while ago and vaguely remembered. It could very well be coincidence, a kid with a balloon isn't original. Anyway, did anyone else think this movie was just weird? It's like that Calvin & Hobbes comic (start of arc) where he's holding a balloon and it carries him away (with him clinging to it, as often is the case for some reason) into the sky. He remarks "There's probably something to learn from this, but I sure don't know what." or some such. So Billy's Balloon may have a message, but until someone tells me otherwise, it's just plain weird. --Falos 19:23, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As far as a meaning is concerned, I'm pretty sure it's just balloons doing to kids what kids do to balloons (hitting them, holding them then letting them "fall up," etc.). While this is for the most part a crude analysis, I'm pretty sure that was what Don was trying to show. I know that kind of thing isn't supposed to go on a Wikipedia page, but I think it should be put on there, as it seems to be a close enough guess. 66.41.202.126 (talk) 16:58, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
