The BHS from a kid's viewpoint[edit]

Being raised up in a Biblical environment (Andhra Christian Theological College, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad), I managed to see all the Bibles in possession of my Dad who was not too willing to let me explore his library. However, I noticed a particular Bible that was away from the rest. I could not make out anything so I thought it was 'not so important'. However, I proved to be wrong. That Bible seemed to be special to my Dad. Whenever he used to go for Bible translations (Telugu Common Language), he used to quickly locate this Bible and keep it in his bag and cycle his way to the Bible House, Rashtrapati Road, Secunderabad. Once while delivering lunch to my Dad's translating team on the first floor of the Bible House, I saw the 'not so important' Bible before him while the rest of his team mates were having Telugu Bibles and lots of written papers before them. It was during my later years that I held this Bible in my hand to have a proper look at it and it read "BIBLIA HEBRAICA STUTTGARTENSIA". All that I could gather out out of it that it was a Hebrew Bible published from Stuttgart. However, asking about it from my Dad itself was a risky proposition. What if he scolds me for having trespassed into his library? Later I came to know that my father was not simply a Bible Teacher but an Old Testament Teacher and that he had to guide those translating keeping the Hebrew Bible before him. To this day, it seems to be the most prized possession of him. GRB Pradeep

Small capitals[edit]

Why is BHS repeatedly (but not always) shown in small capitals in this article? - BobKilcoyne (talk) 04:46, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
