GA quick fail[edit]

I feel that this can be quick-failed from GA for several reasons:

  1. The intro is only one sentence long — way too short.
  2. Each individual section is barely a paragraph long. Can't these be fleshed out more even though this article serves more as a navagational hub?
  3. Theme section is unreferenced.
  4. Are Rotten Tomatoes and Box Office Mojo reliable sources? Is Box Office Mojo a reliable source?

This article needs way more work, in my opinion, before it can become GA. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 20:01, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good points, but why would the individual film paragraphs need to be expanded? This article is supposed to serve as an overview, linking to the films themselves, which offers more indepth plot summaries. I do not think the individual film sections needs to be expanded because they are there just to be an overview, not entire plot summaries. Thanks for the review, though.--EclipseSSD (talk) 13:00, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article still needs work before becoming a good article. There's no production section, which is necessary for all film GAs, especially a film series page. The cast section needs to be expanded, please look at other GA/FA articles for help. Also, the References section is in DESPERATE need of proper citing. Please look at Template:Cite web for guidelines. Please expand the Themes section, and give the article a thorough copyedit. Please renominate when these tasks are completed. Suggest merging Billy Rosewood into this article[edit]

I've suggested that Billy Rosewood be merged into this article. The character isn't notable outside the film series and I don't anticipate the subject having enough content to warrant its own article. At the very least I think it belongs in a single article covering all Beverly Hills Cop characters. James A. Stewart (talk) 22:25, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'd agree with this merge. Rob Sinden (talk) 11:51, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Months later I'd say yes please merge. Millahnna (mouse)talk 00:09, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And that was a year ago, let's do it!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 15:38, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would support this also, I will look to see if there is anyway I can get this moved along.(Ruth-2013 (talk) 21:52, 12 October 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Gil Hill Merge discussion/Cast section[edit]

I think gil Hill article is too short and unneeded as he has only been in 3 movies, I propose the article should be merged here and at the same time the cast section be giving a major revamp to coincide with the merge. Please state underneath if you oppose or support.

ya the article on gil hill is to short, but he was in the movie. So his placement in this section is fine, I dont see the need of adding him into any cast system.Millertime246 (talk) 21:55, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have made comments in opposition to this merger proposal at Talk:Gil Hill before noticing that the discussion was already pending on this Talk page. As noted on that Talk page, I oppose the merger proposal because in addition to his role in the first two Beverly Hills Cop movies, Hill is also notable as a former member of the Detroit, Michigan City Council, and as a 2001 mayoral candidate. --TommyBoy (talk) 06:13, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Gil Hill was the president of the Detroit City Council. He also had an influential radio talk show.John Pack Lambert (talk) 01:23, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose: Gil Hil is famous Detroiter and has much more to his life than the Beverly Hills Cops movies. I am here because I am trying to find out if he was related to an Officer Hill, also Detroit PD, that passed away last night. He deserves his own page. I hope I posted this correctly! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.40.211.253 (talk) 22:08, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Beverly Hills Cop (franchise)[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Beverly Hills Cop (franchise)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
