Correct. It's a secondary source. —C.Fred (talk) 02:08, 15 April 2022 (UTC)

Betty and active years

Was Betty even active in the entertainment business in 2021 with COVID happening? Wasn't she homebound? 2607:FEA8:5CA1:8F40:89AA:574C:4785:5954 (talk) 19:27, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

Even if so, she was available for work, however it was done. We don't list someone not-active just because their car breaks down. - FlightTime (open channel) 19:40, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
Was Betty out and about active in the entertainment industry during her last year or so? If not then years active should be amended to reflect that fact. Her last acting credits without dispute were in 2019. 2607:FEA8:5CA1:8F40:89AA:574C:4785:5954 (talk) 23:48, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
Just because she didn't have any work during COVID, as most of Hollywood didn't, does not mean she should be listed as inactive. She never officially retired and became inactive. 2600:8803:1C1C:2000:C0D5:D6A2:21D1:E999 (talk) 05:15, 7 March 2023 (UTC)
In fact, she was still doing interviews and other things right up until she died. If I recall correctly, People had their "Betty White Turns 100" interview with her shortly before her death and it was still released after her death and a week before what would have been her 100th birthday. So yeah, she was active right until the end. 2600:8803:1C1C:2000:C0D5:D6A2:21D1:E999 (talk) 05:24, 7 March 2023 (UTC)

No, it wasn't. Betty confirmed in her autobiography If You Ask Me (And of Course You Won't) that Betty was not short for Elizabeth and it was her legal name. Her parents wanted it that way and did not want her stuck with any other nicknames for Elizabeth. 2600:8803:1C1C:2000:80FB:B45:A124:F8EC (talk) 13:31, 8 March 2023 (UTC)

major topic issues & endorsing of violence

there is messaging in the initial description, attached photo of her, and later summary of her encouraging people to rape her, and calling her profanity ILoveMyTransFriends (talk) 00:56, 4 April 2023 (UTC)

Yeah. The article has been, at times, the target of vandalism. —C.Fred (talk) 01:58, 4 April 2023 (UTC)

The article states that Betty White is the only woman to have won Emmys in all the comedic categories. That was true - until 2021 when Jean Smart accomplished the same. It would still be accurate to say Betty White was the first woman to accomplish this.

Would it be beneficial to add that she died eighteen days prior to her 100th birthday? Thanks. Cheaha Summit (talk) 00:07, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

Question: how many reliable sources mention this? M.Bitton (talk) 15:21, 27 September 2023 (UTC)

Requesting that Betty's name in the introductory sentence be changed to "Betty Marion Ludden" (née White;...), as that was her legal name at her time of death according to her death certificate (reference 127). Binzy Boi (talk) 03:58, 18 November 2023 (UTC)

Career span understated

Betty White's television career actually spanned 10 decades, not "almost 7". To span a decade, you need only be active at any time during that decade, so a person who started in 1997 and retired in 2012 would have had a career spanning 3 decades. This is why Nolan Ryan is said to have had a career spanning 4 decades (1966-1992). Thus Betty White, who first performed on television in 1939, and last performed in 2021, had a career spanning 10 decades, (1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and the 2020s). Fauble2000 (talk) 19:48, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

Betty had no acting credits in 2020 or 2021. 2607:FEA8:5D1F:7C00:D819:F0:C379:5659 (talk) 05:35, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
