Replaced Thymosin beta with Beta thymosins - the page about beta thymosins following split from thymosins still needs to retain a plural title since it is about a (diverse) protein family. Jgedwards (talk) 01:15, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Much content is detail about beta4 and could move to that article[edit]

Anyone disagree with moving much of the content to thymosin beta-4 ? - Rod57 (talk) 17:42, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Should work OK, provided well cross-referenced, and retain some brief comment about beta4 in the beta thymosins article. Best keep the remainder together, since monomeric thymosins and thymosin repeat proteins together match the Pfam thymosin family, for which this article is now default annotation. Would need to be some editing out where current Thymosin beta-4 page and beta 4 material in beta thymosins overlap. What do others think? Jgedwards (talk) 19:02, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Further thoughts on this - the recent publicity re UCL mouse heart studies caused spikes in all the articles referring to Tb4. The peaks were:
Thymosins 587
Beta thymosins 285
Thymosin beta 4 73
This looks like reluctance to drill down from general to particular, and might be an argument it would be more useful for readership to keep the b4 detail together with the family? Jgedwards (talk) 08:18, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This articles does not link to the TB4 article (which would allow easy 'drill down') - so I'll add some links now. - Rod57 (talk) 14:34, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like we should move the entire subsection Beta_thymosins#Biological_activities_of_thymosin_.CE.B24 to thymosin beta-4. - Rod57 (talk) 14:43, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Done it. Will try to remove duplications from this article. - Rod57 (talk) 15:11, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
