@Graham1973, here's some information on performances, if you'd like to work it in, from Ratner (2002), p. 207:

Première 18 May 1898 at La Trompette, played by Guillaume Rémy (violin), Jules Delsart (violoncello), Saint-Saëns (harmonium), and Louis Diémer (piano) (P). Programme notes: "Encore inédit."

Performances 20 May 1898 at the Concerts-Colonne, Nouveau-Théâtre, played by Jacques Thibaud, Jules Delsart, Charles-Marie Widor, and Louis Diémer (P). September 1898 and December 1898 in Barcelona, played by Mathieu Crickboom, Pablo Casals, Antonio Jean-bernat, and Mario-José Calado (letters from Jeanbernat to Saint-Saëns, 20 September 1898 and 20 November 1898, F DIcm).
