June 5, 2009 Incident[edit]

Can someone provide context for what happened June 5, 2009 in or near Bagau, Peru? I am hearing fragmented stories of the indigenous people being attacked and killed in large numbers by the police. I am trying to use the Bagua link with Google translation: preview.tinyurl.com/lovcp9 but I am starting at beginner level 101 regarding Peruvian politics.
