what is the baccalaureate? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.38.59.138 (talk) 14:22, April 16, 2007 82.38.59.138

  • There seems to be nothing in Wikipedia about the Greek origins of the word and the custom. I know this is not a dictionary, but the derivation from the Bay laurel is significant and worthy of an entry, if someone has the knowledge to start one. Romanian Baccalaureate[edit]

The Romanian Baccalaureate isn't the secondary-school (liceu) diploma, and it isn't mandatory. You can finish high school and just get a diploma for that, without taking the Baccalaureate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.117.72.98 (talk) 19:38, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
