The Surcharge

I work at Club 141 (Hamilton, NJ) as a cashier. I know that if a non-member keeps his/her receipts with the surcharges on them, and it totals to at least $45, they can use those surcharges for a membership. How come no one stated this?

EDIT: Added the Surcharge subject.

oh Yeah

The "Closing 5 stores in the southeast" makes sense now. Back in January, a BJ's near my house closed down unexpectedly. But yeah, there weren't very many people ever there. It had a lot of great groceries. There is also a Sam's by my house, so yeah, problem solved. —Preceding undated comment added 01:50, 16 June 2011 (UTC).

BJ's merger/buyout

Sorry if I did not format this correctly. I am sure one of you Wikipedia experts can help me.

I received notice that BJ's has "merged" with a holding company and they gave me my money back for my stock.

See:

http://www.cboe.com/publish/TTStockSM/11-630.pdf

So it appears they are owned by a private equity firm now, and are no longer a publicly traded company.

Should I update the page? Or maybe one of you-all can.

Thanks in advance.

Name

"The company’s first chief executive officer was Kurt Hughes. His wife, Crystal Whistler, was the inspiration for the company name." This makes no sense. The reference doesn't help. I thought I remembered reading somewhere that the name came from the wife or daughter of the founder, but I can't find it now. -Phoenixrod (talk) 03:33, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

The daughter's name is/was Beverly Jean. It's stated on page 6 the BJ's Team Member Guide, which I have a copy of because I'm a team member. I can change the article if someone lets me know exactly how I should cite this, as the handbook is a physical document and not online. -Jackalopejess (talk) 17:47, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

Beverly Jean Weich, according to mental floss. Citing the team member's guide is simple; just use Template:Cite book. Powers T 23:50, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
