This scientist has been awarded the Bayer Innovation Award (2010) for research into wound dressings and is a holder of a number of US Patents. I was aware that he is employed by AgResearch (it is not his company), but this is a government funded research corporation [1], which is highly regarded in NZ. I think it must rate as a reputable source. It has absolutely nothing to gain by putting out false claims about its staff members. There is a real problem on WP, when high achievers who are not in the limelight, have difficulty in being considered notable; whereas there are, I believe, about 200 pornographic actresses in WP. Thanks for the explanation regarding AgResearch. I do however think that we ought to have a third party reference supporting the award. I'm not saying he didn't get it, rather I'm pointing out the conflict of interest with a reference from his employer.
