Talk:Avraham Qanaï

Unfortunately, some assertions in this entry were factually wrong, because the late Avraham Qanaï (passed away on May 30, 2021) had lied about several facts, as discovered chiefly by Ḥakham Meir Rekhavi back in 2011. Editing the entry about him to reflect the truth during his lifetime was deemed too risky, as there was a well founded concern that Qanaï might commit suicide if faced with these facts. I have therefore just edited the entry so as to reflect the actual facts. A decade ago Rekhavi spoke among others with Qanaï's sister to obtain the information about him that is now included in this corrected entry. I have left out other facts that are not really suitable for a Wikipedia entry about a Karaite persona. -Zvi 19:05, June 27 2021
