Some things to consider[edit]

In the very first statement, it says that astronomical rings are an "early astronomical instrument"; how early? Is there a time in history in which the first of these instruments date back to? How do we know these existed? Have any been excavated in any archeological digs? Or were they considered worthy enough to be collected by the wealthy and preserved that way?

How accurate is this instrument?

There are a lot of links to click on this page about topics that not many people know, but I think it would be more time efficient if a little explanation was given on this page. Maybe include a short description of what a gnomon, an alidade, or a dioptra is and who Gemma Frisius is.

Under history it states that "parts of the instruments go back to instruments made and used by ancient Greek astronomers". I think it would be helpful to include a list or explanation of what those instruments were and what they were used for. Article Review by Jennifer Harreld • I think the introduction needs to be a brief overview of your article. This would give a quick abstract of your article and give more context. • The use of your contents is perfect, but I think there should be a section over the creation of the Astronomical Rings. • I think you are a very clear writer and make this an easy read. I appreciate how quickly you can find the information, but I think you should broaden it. • Under the section Equatorial, you say it can be used to measure right ascension. What is this? I’d love to see more information about this measurement. • I understand the Astronomical Rings are used to measure and date, but I think it isn’t as easy to understand. Maybe some examples of people using them would help to create a visual. • Under Declination, maybe talk more about what declination is. Also expand more on the twenty-five stars that cover the ring. What is there purpose, just decoration? • The History could be more descriptive, like maybe tell what put the rings “out of business” or something along those lines. • The Uses section, I feel, should be at the very beginning. There it could tell and maybe depict the purpose of the rings. • All in all I thought that your writing and findings very clear, and easy to understand. I appreciate this since this article will be viewed by a large crowd. You did perfect and I can’t wait to read the finished product!
