Anthony Leeds (1925-1989) was an American anthropologist who was trained at Columbia and worked in Brazil, Portugal, and the United States. He was one of the first presidents of the Society for Urban Anthropology (a section of the American Anthropological Association),and taught at, among other places, the University of Texas, Austin; Oxford, and Boston University.
