Fair use rationale for Image:Primeval anomaly.png[edit]

Image:Primeval anomaly.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Cut across distance as well as time?[edit]

A sentence in this article suggests that these anomalies cut across distance as well as time. This strikes me as an obvious fact, if they didn't travel through space as well as time, they would most likely lead out into space. Over several hundred million years the earth will have traveled all the way around the galaxy. So the anomalies not only connect across space, but they connect over tens of thousands of light years. I know that this is an article about a fictional topic and the authors take some liberties, but I think we should also strive for scientific accuracy when possible. So we might want to note this rather than the current statement about distance, which has significance only if one is thinking about this from a sort of "earth is flat" perspective. 75.82.133.73 (talk) 03:41, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Primeval title card image[edit]

Licensing This image is a screenshot of a copyrighted television program or station ID. As such, the copyright for it is most likely owned by the company or corporation that produced it. It is believed that the use of a limited number of web-resolution screenshots for identification and critical commentary on the station ID or program and its contents

Which is the use it's being put to here. Barsoomian (talk) 03:15, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

At the bottom of the template you'll notice that it also says "please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as described on Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline". As indicated, each use requires a separate FUR. Use of the image in this article currently fails WP:NFCC#10 because it's missing a fair use rationale for this article. The image shouldn't be restored until an FUR is provided. --AussieLegend (talk) 03:29, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is no "detailed fair use rationale" for the use on Primeval, where it's now being used without complaint (yet). So I look forward to you deleting that. Barsoomian (talk) 05:20, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is an FUR at File:Primeval Titles Series 4.JPG#Summary. It has been there since the image was uploaded. --AussieLegend (talk) 06:19, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I didn't expect to find "fair use" explicated under a heading "Summary", but whatever. So if that's sufficient I'll dupe it. And thus we have an FUR. Barsoomian (talk) 07:25, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The "Parsons Green Station Anomaly" wasn't at Parsons Green Station[edit]

The episode apparently begins with a shot on the Circle Line. The driver announces that the drain is delayed due to a signal failure at Parsons Green. However, Steven refers to the creatures being below the Aldwych - which would make it more likely to be Temple, or possibly Embankment. Whilst Parsons Green is a Tube Station (District Line, which follows the Circle Line route over much of its run), it is actually above ground, which rules it out as the site. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.83.157.139 (talk) 15:54, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I made it just "Parson's Green", meaning just the approximate area. Feel free to (carefully) correct any errors in the article. Barsoomian (talk) 05:22, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Selk?[edit]

What in the world are "shards of selk"? I could see describing them as shards of glass. But I have no idea what "selk" is. Sheherazahde (talk) 00:48, 16 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
