is this article too British-POV? No mention of Spanish victories (tenerife, Rio de Plata, etc)--EuroHistoryTeacher (talk) 19:39, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'd agree that it needs more on those, and several other events.Lord Cornwallis (talk) 23:22, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Split[edit]

This article propbably needs to be split in two one covering the war 1796-1802 and the other 1804-1808. They were distinct seperate wars, broken up by a period of peace in the middle. Lord Cornwallis (talk) 23:22, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. These are two separate wars. john k (talk) 06:22, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Tricky: Two seperate related wars or two parts of the same conflict?

At any rate, this should probably wait until we have enough content for two non-stub articles... Albrecht (talk) 14:47, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

British-Spanish War not Anglo-Spanish[edit]

If this is an "Anglo-Spanish War" why not go the full hog with the anachronisms and call it the "Anglo-Castilian War"? This was a war between Great Britain (or just "Britain" for convenience) and Spain, not England and Spain. The name should really be the "British-Spanish War. No wonder the Scots get annoyed. Maybe convention determines the current name. Any opinions? Provocateur (talk) 21:14, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Two wars, an article[edit]

In this article two different wars are mixed. They must be separated into two articles. The Anglo-Spanish War (1796-1802) and the Anglo-Spanish War (1804-1808). --Muwatallis II (talk) 01:05, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I concur, and it has been discussed before on this page too. Eastfarthingan (talk) 21:03, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
