Cause of Death[edit]

She had mouth cancer, but died of "AIDS-related complications" ? I'm confused. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.178.39.12 (talkcontribs) 15:50, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well if the Cancer don't kill ya, the AID sure will --24.222.131.67 (talk) 15:34, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
didn't she marry or live with this man who was the one who had aids and didn't tell her and therefore gave her aids,,this is what i heard in 89-90.should check that out,,don't remember his name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.43.41.14 (talk) 02:21, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see what the problem with that is. If I have halitosis but I get hit by a truck, it wasn't the halitosis that killed me.
My bigger issue is that she was diagnosed in 2000 but died in 1989. Someone wanna check on that? Jeffholton (talk) 19:23, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Here is an article in People MagazinePeople reporting Blake died of AIDs, however I am not sure if we should count this source as reliable. --LienEmpire (talk) 20:50, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Here's an AP story about her cause of death: http://www.nytimes.com/1989/11/08/us/amanda-blake-died-of-aids-doctor-says.html. She is also listed on the "Persons with HIV" page, so it seems wrong that the same information isn't here.SteverB (talk) 04:28, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
As reported in the Los Angeles Times at the time, her doctor said she did not contract AIDS from a blood transfusion. StarryGrandma (talk) 00:34, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Status of Spaeth Marriage[edit]

The page is inconsistent. In the infobox (upper right corner), it indicates that her marriage to Mark Spaeth ended in divorce in 1985. In the section titled Marriages, it indicates that the marriage ended upon his death 27 May 1985.

There is a 27 Apr 1985 UPI article indicating that Spaeth had filed for divorce. There is a 29 May 1985 Orlando Sentinel article indicating that Spaeth, "who filed for divorce from actress Amanda Blake earlier this month," had died. (The Orlando Sentinel article does not indicate that the divorce decree had been entered.)

I haven't been able to find a definitive answer to the 33-year-old question of whether the divorce had been granted prior to Spaeth's death or not. However, current law (according to www.divorcenet.com) indicates that it takes at least 60 days after filing to be finalized. That may or may not have been the law back in 1985. Password[edit]

Since two other game shows are listed, it should be noted that she appeared on the original Password. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.38.185.65 (talk) 08:10, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Gender preference[edit]

My grandpa who is 82 and currently watching gunsmoke right now said that she preferred women partners. Is this true? 2600:1702:2570:67B0:95E2:F3C:58FD:BF80 (talk) 19:27, 15 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Arizona[edit]

Ms. Blake's home was in Scottsdale, not Phoenix. I know this because she lived behind our home in Thornwood Acres, Scottsdale. There were 48 1-acre lots, with horse privileges, in Thornwood Acres. She kept one of her horses, "Red," in the corral behind our backyards. All of the homeowners in Thornwood Acres (near Scottsdale and Camelback Roads) were bought out by a private developer, who promptly raze all the homes, hoping to sell the choice property for a fortune; instead, he went broke. So, there ya go. 96.61.76.207 (talk) 00:35, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
