Etymology addition.[edit]

Almeday/Almeda is also a clan name for some Tigre's in Eritrea and breaking up the name in Al meda gives *The land/The Plateau*. Meda ending with y means it's personal like *my plateau/my land*

The name has some christian roots and it could have to do with some of the Portguese that had ties with local tribes in Eritrea or nearby countries back in 16th century during the ottoman portguese rivalry period.
