De-PROD[edit]

I saw this film had been PROD-ed. Since it is certainly a serious film of cultural significance, and important in Jewers' career, available in the National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales and indeed on YouTube, and now cited in the article, I think a PROD not appropriate. Hope this helps! Chiswick Chap (talk) 22:06, 12 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: Would an archive specifically for Wales count under WP:NFILM? I know that it's a part of the UK, but not a nation in and of itself. I did remove the other two links to the filmmaker's own site and to a link about the poem and not the actual film.Tokyogirl79 (talk) 04:26, 13 February 2012 (UTC)tokyogirl79[reply]
Why? The filmmaker can be trusted to for facts about his own films - he ought to know, and at this distance in time is very unlikely to have been lying - and he is corroborated by the Welsh national film archive which is certainly reliable and independent. Wales would strenuously insist it is a nation though admittedly not a state, by the way. I hope you shan't mind if I restore the links. The link to the poem is also correct here - it does not establish the film's notability but it correctly shows that the title does come from the poem as claimed in the article (links are for Verifiability as well as other things). And by the way, since I doubt very much anyone would suggest the quotations by Jewers are not of interest in this context, we require the link to his website to establish that he wrote them. Hope this is acceptable now. with best regards as always Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:28, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • It's cool. I'll trust your judgement on this since you've explained it. I just know that primary sources are sort of a weird subject here on Wikipedia, so it's possible that someone can come on with the same argument that I have. I don't mean to sound like a pest, I'm just sort of weird about primary sources in that I don't like using them. It's too easy for people to argue against them at the end of the day, so I always try to find other sources.Tokyogirl79 (talk) 11:20, 13 February 2012 (UTC)tokyogirl79[reply]
