E.J.A. Woodford[edit]

E.J.A. Woodford, natural history book and art collector, was "Chief Inspector and Commissary General of Foreign Corps" from 1794 until (?date?), and then assistant to his cousin George Woodford Thellusson, a director in the East India Company, until 1809, when he was accused of selling writerships, and of other financial irregularities. He then "retired to America" and from there to Brazil, Lisbon, and, finally, Bordeaux, where he died in 1817. It was his younger half-brothers, Alexander George Woodford and John George Woodford, who were prominent officers in the Napoleonic Wars. Nomen ambiguum (talk) 16:48, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
