Frequency dependent attenuation rate problem[edit]

I am no expert but this part seems incorrect.

"Acoustic attenuation in water is frequency-squared dependent, namely . Acoustic attenuation in many metals and crystalline materials is frequency-independent, namely .[1]"

means the characteristic length is , yet the source (which seems to have incorrect syntax as well) claims it's frequency independent. Someone who knows this check if the statement is valid. 59.115.129.173 (talk) 18:58, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
