Is it he dead or not[edit]

Is there any news about his death --Marik-modder (talk) 19:25, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Given the complete lack of reporting of his death by any reliable sources in the 6 weeks since his supposed death, I'm going to say probably not. Gazkthul (talk) 21:29, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think he is that notable to even warrant a comment by reliable sources --Donenne (talk) 09:20, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Given that he is a senior field commander and has received press coverage before, his death could be expected to be covered by the news wires and warrant a statement from the Coalition trumpeting it as a success. Gazkthul (talk) 11:33, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
A 'senior' field commander? If you are insinuating he is a major player within the Islamic State hierarchy, you are incorrect. He is 'notable' for appearing in one IS video shooting three truck drivers in June 2013. On his Wikipedia page, he has a total of five references from sources which don't include any major western media outlet or news agency. If he died, it would pass unnoticed in international media. --Donenne (talk) 16:55, 29 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The Brookings Institution's Islamic State Senior Leadership: Who's Who describes Abu Wahib as a "Senior military commander"
He has also been described as an important figure by major media outlets including:
The Washington Post [1] "purports to show senior military commander Abu Wahib"
The New York Times [2] "today he is a key figure leading the fighting within Falluja"
The Guardian [3] "They are being led by the senior emir, Abu Wahib"
The BBC [4] "Nothing suggests that other high-ranking IS figures, such as [...] Shaker Abu Waheeb" -Gazkthul (talk) 01:08, 1 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Abu Waheeb's death is now being confirmed by media reports [5], [6] and the Pentagon. Gazkthul (talk) 21:21, 9 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
