Latitude and Longditude needs work[edit]

I have just edited the lat and long, to land close to the spot indicated in my Bible atlas, which was as-already- described in the text of this article. This needs further work, as all I did was to get the Google Earth cursor as close as I could to match the spot in the Bible atlas and read the coordinates from that. The previous co-ords pointed to 20Km east of the southern tip of Galilee. Stratopastor (talk) 13:37, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

POV identification with Tell el-Hammam?[edit]

Unsourced connection (palm trees as argument! The whole region is full of them, it's ridiculous, and this is just the clearest example) pushed several times in the text. There is a recent push among fundamentalist Evangelicals to promote Tell el-Hammam as Sodom, Shittim, Abila, Livias/Julias... Only Jerusalem and Nazareth are safe from them. Not impossible, but far from a consensus, only that these people are trading in certainties where there are none - so not useful to us. Please do keep an eye on it. Overreferenced, not or hardly RS[edit]

I have removed the following titles:

Graves & Stripling apparently published basically the same material twice in 2007 in two different "journals", both of them strictly Creationist, so quoting one article more than suffices. The only question is if any of the two can be considered RS. The editor didn't link either, so they're of little use to both reader & fellow editor anyway.

Khouri is a journalist, he only collects info from archaeologists who author RS books; he's usually thorough, but not a quotable author on archaeology, he's only useful temporarily when nothing else is available, which is not the case here. Arminden (talk) 13:47, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
