I don't think "guido" is the best term to describe the characters in the film. Weren't they second-generation Americans whose parents were from Yemen? Mike H. That's hot 02:46, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What is "gino"? The page that is linked to is deleted for some reason. Is it too controversial?

No This movie takes place in Western L.A. (probably B.H.) and these guys are Persians. At least thats the way they behave and Beverly Hills and Westwood have quite a large and visible population of them.

How do you list its critical reception and performance at the box office/DVD sales and rentals? It's currently rated low on Rotten Tomatoes (2008) but I wonder how much of that is based on its initial reception? Plus the 2007 Super Bowl Pepsi commercial - it makes you wonder if its popular reception defied the critics views. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.241.107.173 (talk) 05:57, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Butabis were not Persian. Both Chris Kattan (of Iraqi descent) and Dan Hedaya (of Syrian descent) are of Arab ancestry. Also, the owner of The Roxbury, Mr. Benny Zadir is Arab and is based on the actual owner of The Roxbury, Elie Samaha, who is Lebanese-American. This Movie Is Not What Made "What Is Love" Famous[edit]

It's the actual SNL skits that did. I feel the main page should be edited to reflect this, as it currently credits "A Night at the Roxbury" for the fame of the characters and the song, whereas the fame of the characters and the song are what got the idea for the movie to be made!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.245.229.239 (talk) 05:14, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cult Following[edit]

I have now twice removed the statement that the film has a "cult following." Being one of those terrible-but-funny SNL movies, it probably does; but until someone gets a source for it, it shouldn't go in. Sheavsey33 (talk) 05:38, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
