Need to add album release info in the "1980s-1990s" section[edit]

Need to put existing material into context with the album release dats, at least. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.183.107.205 (talk) 21:10, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Most of article was a copyvio[edit]

I just gutted the article because almost the entire history section was a copyvio from [1]. I think I removed all the cut-and-pasted content. Tempshill 19:54, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:DebutSeagulls.jpg[edit]

Image:DebutSeagulls.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:22, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Moved from article[edit]

Trivia[edit]

Source?[edit]

"The band's self-titled debut album is a concept album about alien abduction. Four UFOs are on the cover of the album, visible in the window to the left of the TV."

I'm curious about where this information came from. In any event it has no place here. If accurate, it belongs on the album page. Deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.167.136.139 (talk) 08:50, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Avoid fan-speak[edit]

I just wanted to give editors of AFOS-related articles a heads-up about using the abbreviation I just used ("AFOS"). Such abbreviations should be avoided in Wikipedia articles because they are not in line with the kind of encyclopedic tone we should be using here. I haven't gone through all the relevant articles, just this one, so could someone else please help to make these changes? Thanks. - dcljr (talk) 03:24, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Debut[edit]

Where is the information on their debut album? Bulbous (talk) 03:58, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Name Choice?[edit]

"The choice of their name was between 'The Seagulls' and what it is today. A friend chose 'A Flock of Seagulls' because it was a shorter name to write on first time gig posters."

This makes no sense to me...? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.228.209.94 (talk) 15:59, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Can someone who knows the relevant facts rewrite that sentence to make it make sense? --Elysdir (talk) 08:50, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gary Steadman[edit]

wasn't Gary Steadman in A Flock of Seagulls, it says in the Classix Nouveaux article he went to join them or something like that —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.143.139.3 (talk) 21:59, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Grammy Award has been 1982 (not 1983)[edit]

Origins of name[edit]

Contrary to what is written here, I once read that the band got their name from being inspired by the novel Jonathan Livingston Seagull. ACEOREVIVED (talk) 00:54, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Image[edit]

Shame there's no image of the band here. There was one, but it violated fair use. If anyone can find one it would add to the page. Jimsteele9999 (talk) 23:36, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Haircut[edit]

As the article has a section for the haircut sported by Mike Score, it would almost certainly be useful to have a picture demonstrating this haircut in that section. --92.39.200.91 (talk) 18:19, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

legacy[edit]

in pulp fiction, it was an insult to be called "flock of seagulls." that increased their 'coolness' factor? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.49.6.225 (talk) 05:25, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Alister "Ali" James Score worked for Honeywell Bull (?) in Cambridge, MA, (?) as seen in a computer magazine article.Xb2u7Zjzc32 (talk) 01:26, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
