Untitled[edit]

This article is about a Bangladesh TV channel, broadcast from Bangladesh. I am not sure about the canadian connection, but if there is a Canadian channel called ATN Bangla, this is not that. For such a channel ATN Bangla (Canada) should be the article title. Thanks. --Ragib 23:13, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ATN Bangla in trouble from Ofcom (UK Sky Digital Satellite)[edit]

Bangladeshi broadcaster ATN Bangla failed to provide accurate recordings of their output to Ofcom over content viewers found offensive.

Graphic images in an ATN Bangla news report about the crash of a minibus in Bangladesh, including an interview with a distressed young child who was also filmed identifying her parents' bodies, caused a viewer to complain to Ofcom.

Although the programme-makers gave an undertaking not to include similarly shocking images in the future, the tape it provided did not include the interview with the child and was therefore found in breach of its licence.

This also explains the reason behind ATN Bangla's sudden disappearance from the Sky EPG last month. Before it was removed, ATN Bangla was previously available on EPG 818.
