"AC/DC" can mean bisexual?[edit]

Several of us have, at various times and independently, added a dab line referring to bisexuality. Ishmaelblues clearly objects to this and reverts each time it is added.

I think this is a valid dab line because the term "AC/DC" is in wide use, at least in North America, to refer to bisexuals and this definition is certainly notable.

What do you all think?

AC/DC. Alternating current. Swings both ways. A well known euphemism in the UK here too. --kingboyk 16:18, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I also agree, the term is in common usage. I've re-added it. Ben Ram 00:06, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And I've re-removed it. If it can pass consensus there, add it to bisexuality first. -- JHunterJ (talk) 00:39, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've added it back, since to my own knowledge it is a common term. And this seems to confirm. Rodhullandemu 23:31, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed it again, since it is not ambiguous in Wikipedia. If it can pass consensus there, add it to bisexuality first. -- JHunterJ (talk) 10:46, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AC/DC is indeed a euphemism for bisexuality, which means that it needs to be listed as such on Wikipedia. After all, the goal of Wikipedia is to be comprehensive. 63.25.179.52 (talk) 22:24, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not a dictionary, so euphemisms to not need to be listed unless they are encyclopedic. Disambiguation pages are not lists, so entries here are only included for articles that are ambiguous. The goal is to be encyclopedic. The goal of disambiguation pages is to disambiguate ambiguous encyclopedia articles. You can find and add content to the bisexuality article, and if it "sticks", then the ambiguity can be resolved here. -- JHunterJ (talk) 01:53, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
JHunter's point that dab pages are not lists is valid. The logic for adding Bisexuality here would be the same for arguing that Obesity should be listed at Cow (disambiguation). dab pages are for aiding readers who can't quite find what they're looking for by typing in the search box. anyone who knows ac/dc refers to sexuality would know what page to look up. the argument that it aides people who don't know what the term means is kind of moot since wikipedia isn't a dictionary, to define every slang use of every word in the english language. this is true regardless of whether or not it's mentioned in the Bisexuality article. --ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 22:51, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
