Chart positions[edit]

For a comprehensive list of chart positions around the world, check out this site: http://home.zipworld.com.au/~callisto/abba.html (Coachtripfan (talk) 11:34, 14 December 2012 (UTC)) (Coachtripfan (talk) 16:34, 14 December 2012 (UTC))[reply]

"Summer Night City" reached No.1 in Ireland, but is not listed as charting at all. I'll leave it because I don't know what other mistakes there may be. Also the album discography looks a bit of a mess. Shouldn't it be boxed off like the singles? --Tuzapicabit (talk) 04:13, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do we need chart info from New Zealand, Austria and Norway? They are small record markets. It would be better to concentrate on the largest markets - US, UK, Germany, France, Australia, Canada, Netherlands and because it's ABBA, Sweden. A full comprehensive list can be found on the WorldWide Chart Lists website, link above. (Coachtripfan (talk) 11:34, 14 December 2012 (UTC))[reply]

You missed out a lot of the Swedish singles! You don't start until Fernando. (Coachtripfan (talk) 10:39, 16 April 2013 (UTC))[reply]

Chronicles[edit]

I just found a compilation album that is missing here! Chronicles was released in 2006, though I do not have any charting info for it. I have the songlist (3 discs!) and will post it after I finish with my work on the Ben E. King page.

Reply to Tuzapicabit: Yeah, the list is not boxed off nicely, and seems to be a bit of a scruffily put-together effort. I may look more into this in the future once I've mastered the use of the boxes on my project page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CycloneGU (talkcontribs) 02:24, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Buffing the text at the top[edit]

Right - the text at the top is a wee bit slim - I'd add who were the main songwriters for most records, and just note the most successful single and original studio album I guess. And maybe a sentence or two on label history. The article could end up as a Featured list, so polish up on reading there :) Casliber (talk · contribs) 14:30, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've already listed Benny and Bjorn as the songwriters and producers, when I was still going by User talk:76.198.234.254. "Dancing Queen" and Arrival are their biggest hits worldwide, song and album respectively, with "Fernando" up there also. I will add this in. --Discographer (talk) 16:24, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Universal Music had bought out Polar Music, so that's even listed. --Discographer (talk) 16:30, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This article is ready to be nominated. --Discographer (talk) 17:58, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm....let's compare it with one already done (scratches head)......(sound of ruffling wikipages) aha! here's one --> Red Hot Chili Peppers discography. Ok what to do....Casliber (talk · contribs) 20:44, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The fonts are too large[edit]

I don't want to adjust the font-size for the use of the tables again as I see my recent adjustment to the tables has been reverted, and I dislike edit-warring intensely. I do strongly believe that the fonts are too large and they need to be minimized. Perhaps considering it won't be a bad idea. I'm referring to the sizes that are used for example at Madonna albums discography or Celine Dion albums discography.--Harout72 (talk) 07:21, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Several issues[edit]

The table says "One Man, One Woman" and "Dum Dum Diddle" were released as singles in certain areas. However, I almost failed to find any reliable sources confirming these statements. Any help will be appreciated. — Qweedsa (talk) 09:43, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Where is 'Love songs' from 1984?[edit]

As I remember, right after 'Thank you for the music'(1983), in 1984 there was another compilation of ABBA's love songs, called -'Love Songs'. Regards;207.216.132.157 (talk) 04:18, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There was an LP compilation called Love Songs released by the Beatles around that time.

Sales figures[edit]

I don't seem to be seeing any.
Is Madonna's "Hung Up" the best-selling ABBA single at 9 million copies? Varlaam (talk) 22:46, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

According to WP, "Dancing Queen" sold a miserly 3 million. Varlaam (talk)

Dancing Queen had sold 3 Million to the end of 1976. It did not reach No.1, in the USA, until well into 1977. So you have to add in well over 1 Million USA Sales, to its 1976 Total. It was still Top 10 in many Countries, at the end of 1976. So, those Sales have to be added in. It has also sold over 700,000, in Downoads, between the UK & USA alone. Its Global Sales are at least 7 Million. The 3 Million Sales, at the end of 1976, were merely its Sales to that point.....86.13.2.211 (talk) 21:09, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

ABBA: The Collection[edit]

Dear ABBA experts, there is an orphan article called ABBA: The Collection with no real links to it. Is this a misnamed article that duplicates a correctly named one somewhere else? I notice that the article only contains a wikilink to one of the songs, when others were possible. I'm afraid I must leave it to your collective skill and judgement what needs to be done with this article. Thanks in advance. TheAMmollusc (talk) 07:11, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Discography in rest of world[edit]

Why is there no discography for countries in Latin American and elsewhere for Abba and other musical artists? Abba was quite popular in South America, from Venezuela to Brazil to Argentina — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.239.250.100 (talk) 16:21, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You are right, there's a lot still to add here and indeed there Spanish recordings sem to be missing.. It might be also worthwhile to point out, that Abba released a lot of different/customized collection albums to local music markets.--Kmhkmh (talk) 08:31, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

US Cash Box chart[edit]

Shouldn't info from Cash Box be added for the US because Billboard was not the only major chart in the US. Also, ABBA's songs charted differently between the Billboard and Cash Box charts (some songs charted much higher on one chart compared to the other). Some songs' Cash Box info is on their own pages, but not this one. EPBeatles (talk) 21:06, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Release Formats[edit]

I very much doubt if any of the studio albums were originally released on CD as stated, considering the CD wasn't released as a format until 1983 and didn't really take off as a mainstream format until the late 80s/early 90s, and what is "DD" format? 86.184.52.87 (talk) 17:20, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think "DD" might mean "digital download"? Seeing as the Voyage album is listed as having a "digital download" format. At first I was thinking "Dolby Digital", but that wouldn't make much sense since it would still have to be distributed on a format containing the Dolby Digital encoding, such as a DVD. compilation albums[edit]

Why does the lead and the info box state 7, whereas already the first table on compilation albums list 11 (nevermind the 2nd table)?--Kmhkmh (talk) 02:49, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think this is a good comment that deserves attention. The very first sentence of the article (and the infobox) makes a specific statement that the rest of the article contradicts rather dramatically. In fact, the "Compilation albums" table now shows 12 albums, not just 11. And I think Kmhkmh is also asking why there's a second table of "Other compilation albums" that currently shows 25 more. What is the "otherness" of these 25? The article should explain somehow. 76.20.110.219 (talk) 05:30, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
