St. Louis City conference[edit]

Has it been confirmed yet that St. Louis will play in the Western conference? I can't find anything that says so (yet). Until then, I wonder, should we note "TBA" on the map with a different colored dot? Thanks conman33 (. . .talk) 19:48, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It has not. I'm not 100% sure that it's confirmed that Nashville is moving back to the East, either. 87Fan (talk) 19:49, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Actually... This Nashville Post story [[1]] seems to support both statements that St. Louis in the West and Nashville in the East. 87Fan (talk) 22:01, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I'm sure we'll find out in the next week or so, I guess. conman33 (. . .talk) 04:13, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Concacaf Champions League Qualification[edit]

Crosstable for results?[edit]

Why are we using a crosstable for results? The table is already monstrously large where the vast majority of the space will be greyed out, especially since there are a number of teams that don't play each other at all or only play a team once. It makes far more sense to use a results table similar to what is being used at 2023 USL Championship season. Jay eyem (talk) 14:01, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. Won't the current crosstable be problematic for teams that play each other 3 times this season, too? All for a different solution than what we have here - it's big and unwieldy and I'm not sure it adds much value (you can get the results elsewhere, and the big table isn't easy to read or parse). 87Fan (talk) 18:25, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I have a results table similar to what the USL articles use ready to go, but would like some additional input on whether or not to make the change since it is pretty significant. I have it in my sandbox at the moment and would love to get that out onto this article before the next matchday. Jay eyem (talk) 19:55, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2024 CONCACAF Champions League Qualification[edit]

Note that starting with the 2024 CONCACAF Champions League, the qualification from the regular season for this event, has changed to include Canadian teams in the MLS, and not US teams. The qualification slots are for the MLS now, not just US-based MLS teams. You will need to change Note (b) in the overall table to reflect this change.

Change title.[edit]

I would like the article to be called "2023 Major League Soccer Season." Opposed to "2023 Major League Soccer season." You may not notice the changes but the season is capitalized. InotLiam (talk) 17:18, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Season timeframe[edit]

As per the article, the regular season is ending on 21st of October then why Lionel Messi's stats aren't getting updated? Also a brief knowledge about what League Cup is would be helpful for me. Thanks — Akshadév™ 💬 06:28, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Because Messi has not yet played a match in the MLS regular season. All of the matches he has played at this point are in the 2023 Leagues Cup, which is a separate competition entirely. It's the same reason the stats in his infobox on his own page have not yet been updated: because we only keep track of the regular season stats, not additional competitions such as cups. Team of the match Day[edit]

It will be better if we can team of the match day distinguished by bench, can we use italic or something for that? Sherifkk (talk) 16:14, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
