Confused with Shimajiri-Ozato (Nanzan) Castle?[edit]
As this map shows, there were two Ozato Castles -- one in the present-day Nanjo City -- Shimjii Ozato Caslte (島添大里城), commonly known as Ozato Castle)-- and another in the present-day Itoman City – Shimajiri Ozato Castle (島尻大里城), commonly known as Nanzan Castle. I suspect that these two are confused in the article.
According to a website by Okinawa Prefectural Board of Education[1] (and several other sources in Japanese), the castle that fell to Sho Hashi in 1429 was Shimajiri Ozato Gusuu.
It appears to me that a castle that ”sat on a hill near the fishing town of Itoman” is much more likely to be Nanzan Castle than Ozato Castle
I also think that the primary school mentioned in the article is likely to be Takamine Elementary school[2] since there seems to be no school around Ozato Uchibaru Park, which I understand is the Ozato Castle ruin site. [3]

I think you have a point. I've only been able to find limited sources on the castles, and the book I based most of the article on only refers to "Ozato Castle" and doesn't distinguish between "Shimashii" and "Shimajiri". I've also found sources referring to "Shimazoe Ōzato". The map you showed is the only confirmation I can find of there location, as most web searches say something like "look for the signs posted" and the castles aren't visible (or labeled) on Google Maps. There needs to be another article for the second castle anyway, and this article needs to be corrected. ミーラー強斗武 (talk) 04:03, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
