Luton South and South Bedfordshire (UK Parliament constituency)

Luton South and South Bedfordshire is a proposed constituency of the House of Commons in the UK Parliament. Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, it will first be contested at the next general election.[1] The constituency name refers to the southern areas of Luton and parts of the former district of South Bedfordshire.[2]

Boundaries[edit]

The constituency will be composed of the following (as they existed on 1 December 2020):

  • The District of Central Bedfordshire wards of Caddington; Eaton Bray.
  • The Borough of Luton wards of: Biscot; Crawley; Dallow; Farley; High Town; Round Green; South; Wigmore.[3]

It will contain the following parts:[4]

Following local government boundary reviews in Central Bedfordshire[5][6] and Luton[7][8] which came into effect in May 2023, the constituency will now comprise the following from the next general election:

  • The District of Central Bedfordshire wards of Caddington; Eaton Bray.
  • The Borough of Luton wards of: Biscot; Beech Hill (majority); Central; Dallow; Farley; High Town; Round Green; South; Stopsley (part); Vauxhall; Wigmore; and very small parts of Barnfield, Challney and Saints wards.[4]
