The King David Hotel (Hebrew: מלון המלך דוד) is a proposed hotel in Paradise, Nevada intended to cater to Jewish travelers.[1]

History[edit]

In 2023, plans were submitted to Clark County seeking approval for the project. The Clark County Zoning Commission will need to review the proposal.[2]

The hotel will be located west of the Las Vegas Strip at 3601 Vegas Plaza Drive between Spring Mountain Road and Flamingo Road. It will be west of Treasure Island, north of The Mirage and south of the Fashion Show Mall. Perlman Architects will serve as the designer of the project.[3]

Jewish leaders have been calling for a synagogue and a hub for Jewish travelers near the Las Vegas Strip for years. The nearest synagogue is Chabad of Southern Nevada, which is four miles from the Las Vegas Strip. Having a synagogue close to the Las Vegas Strip will be convenient for observant Jews who must walk on the sabbath. In addition, there are not many kosher food options around the Las Vegas Strip. It is hoped that the hotel would make the Las Vegas Valley a year-round destination for Jewish tourism. The structure's design would be similar to that of the Citigroup Center in New York City.[4]

Features[edit]

The hotel will contain 486 guest rooms and will be 46 stories tall. It will have feature that cater to Jewish travelers. It will include a synagogue as well as banquet space. The hotel will contain bars as well as restaurants that serve kosher food. Retail and convention space will also be included.[5][6][7]
