Jessie Inchauspé, also known as Glucose Goddess,[1] is a French influencer and New York Times bestselling author.[2] Her books contain claims promoting techniques designed to manage blood sugar levels.[3][4]

Early life[edit]

Inchauspé was born in 1992.[4] She holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from King's College London, and a master's degree in biochemistry from Georgetown University.[5]

An accident in which she broke her back at age 19 led her to be interested in health.[4]

Career[edit]

She worked at the genetics start-up 23andMe as product lead.[6] In 2019, she started the @glucosegoddess Instagram account on which she shared graphs made from her own continuous glucose monitor data to illustrate nutritional science.[6]

In April 2022, Inchauspé released her debut book, "Glucose Revolution: the life-changing power of balancing your blood sugar."[7] Over 1 million copies have been sold worldwide.[1][8] It is a number 1 bestseller in France, the United Kingdom, Australia, Spain, and Germany.[8] In the US, is a Wall Street Journal bestseller.[7][4] It is translated into 40+ languages.[9] In it, Inchauspé shares the supposed importance of glucose regulation for all aspects of our health.[10]

In May 2023, Inchauspé's released her second book, "The Glucose Goddess Method". It was featured on the The New York Times Best Seller List.[2]

Her views are criticized by Professor François Jornayvaz, department head at Geneva University Hospitals: "She hides behind a pseudoscientific appearance to advocate a method which, in my opinion, doesn't work and is based on very little evidence. The scientific studies she cites are highly anecdotal, if not outright false, or not applicable to what she proposes."[3]

Personal life[edit]

Inchauspé lives in New York City.[4]
