Gkríka

Gkríka is a village in Greece.[1]

Location[edit]

It is located in the prefecture of Thesprotia and the region of Epirus, in the western part of the country, 300 km northwest of the capital Athens. Gkríka is situated 398 meters above sea level[1] and has a population of 262.[1]

The terrain around Gkríka is hilly to the southwest, but mountainous to the northeast. The highest point nearby is 740 meters above sea level, 1.5 km northwest of Gkríka. The area around Gkríka is sparsely populated, with 19 inhabitants per square kilometer.[2] The nearest major community is Igoumenitsa, 14.2 km west of Gkríka. The surroundings of Gkríka.[3]

Climate[edit]

A Mediterranean climate prevails in the area.[4] The average annual temperature in the area is 15 °C. The hottest month is July, with an average temperature of 27 °C, and the coldest is January, with 4 °C.[5] The average annual rainfall is 1,463 millimeters. The wettest month is December, with an average of 223 mm of precipitation, and the driest is August, with 8 mm of precipitation.[6]
